"No Deposit, No Return"
It is often said that teams are made in the In-Season and players are made in the Off-Season. This statement is very true and that is why we use the quote "No Deposit, No Return" which is often used on pop cans.
In the summer of 2000 we started the Lake City Basketball 300 Hour Club to help players set goals, and give them something to shoot for. Our off-season gives players many opportunities to grow as a basketball player and a person. The varsity players will generally play in a RCTC summer basketball league, play in four-five summer varsity tournaments, attend the "Hoop It Up" Camp, and most importantly attend open gyms and work on their own individual skills.
Varsity level players also have the opportunity to play on AAU teams and attend other camps.
Our younger players have many opportunities as well. These include the "Lake City Basketball Camp" in early June, and the "Hoop It Up" Camp in mid July. The Lake City Recreation Department also offers a Junior Basketball League (grades 7-9) and an Elementary Basketball League (grades 5-6) throughout the summer. Younger teams can also play in various Pacesetter tournaments throughout the spring and summer.
