The Lake City 6th grade (class of 2020) won the 2014 Pacesetter State Championship on June 15th at St. Benedict's College. The young TIgers defeated Moose Lake WIllow River 42-6, Brandon-Evansville 38-19, and Minneota 32-31 for the title. The 6th grade boys finished a great season winning the Pacesetter along with taking 2nd place in the 32 Team Great Northwest Basketball League in Wisconisn.

Senior Reid Lundell was recently named to the Minnesota High School Basketball Coaches Association Academic All-State team, which recognizes athletes around the state for performance both on the court and in the classroom. Reid is one of 35 players in class A and AA to receive this honor. Lundell averaged 16.3 points per game and scored a career-high 27 points in a 69-51 win over Zumbrota-Mazeppa on Jan. 17. He led the team in assists, averaging 2.8 per game. He also led the team in two-point field goal percentage (53.1) and minutes played (727). Lundell made 108 of 157 free throws to finish the year at 68.8 percent from the foul line. He was second on the team in rebounds, averaging 5.4 per game and had 29 steals on the season. Reid finished 10th on the school’s all-time scoring list with 717 career points.
